A gnome-shell fan!!!
I am still pondering over keeping Unity..
Unity has added a great effect to Ubuntu Natty.
But I saw the gnome-shell screen shots and woah it looked amazing!!!
Are they gonna keep shell?
Hope they do. Like it better
I'm so confused. The Gnome 3 PPA has more packages than this one, but it lacks the gtk3-engines-pixbuf package, and doesn't seem to have the correct look and feel for gtk3 apps. That, and this PPA has been updated in the past week. But when I add this PPA to my sources, I can't find the gnome-shell package. And this PPA, despite having gtk3-engines-pixbuf, doesn't have nearly as many packages as the Gnome 3 PPA.
Is this just a case of, "It's still beta, keep your pants on and wait for the final release?" Because I'd be okay with that. I'm just trying to make sure I don't install software from the wrong repository.
@ dan hester
if you go to "External PPA Homepage" tab above
https://launchpad.net/~ricotz/+archive/testing
it says:
PPA description
WARNING - Make sure you know what you are doing. Using this and the gnome3 ppa could break your system!
So you need to know how to repair it using something like ppa-purge.
To use the included packages you also need to add the Gnome3 PPA
ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3 (https://launchpad.net/~gnome3-team/+archive/gnome3)
i hope this help
btw, the ppa's are working great with natty, a pleasure to use
